Spaceport America

Virgin Galactic's spaceport America is an unbelievable looking facility. The drive up looks amazing as if you were going to space or something...or wait you are! This is the launch facility if you spent your $250,000 to go into space via Virgin Galactic's White Knight's/Space Ships. If you want to just drive by and look go to Las Cruces, New Mexico.a

Another Reason Why Virgin America Is The Best US Carrier

While those legacy airlines are scheming to charge you more to fly over the holidays, Virgin America is making it even easier to choose its services over the rest. Announced today, the airline (which should expand to more cities on the double, just so we're clear) has teamed up with Google in order to bring gratis WiFi to all flyers throughout the holiday season. If you'll recall, VA recently made known that every single one of its aircraft was equipped with in-flight internet courtesy of Aircell, and between November 10th, 2009 and January 15th, 2010, your surfing will be on the house should your find yourself in a seat. Not a bad way to spread a little holiday cheer, huh?

F1 Bahrain

Thanks to everyone who was wondering where my preview/review was. Glad you are enjoying them. I didnt see the race live...well I sorta did but fell asleep in the middle of it. Caught it later thanks to the internets and really not really much to say. Kind of a boring race, the one thing I thought was interesting; being a Ferrari fan, was that Luca Di Montezemolo showed up to "inspire" Ferrari in this race instead of waiting til Spain when all the teams are supposed to catch up to the others with their diffusers and such. Kimi finished 6th so I suppose it worked eh? Button came through again and took the race for Brawn. Id have to say that it was the finest race Button has driven in his career. He was practically perfect throughout. Felt a bit bad for Trulli and Toyota as he wanted to win for Italy (earthquake) and Toyota (first win ever in F1) but I think he is going to win a race sometime this season so cheer up Jarno. Also Vettel is a fucking beast and probably getting fit for either Massa or Kovalainen's seat for next year. Another fantastic race from the German.

Shockingly it seems that the best cars are Brawn (obviously), Red Bull and Toyota. Everyone else is way behind, almost to the point of non-competitiveness if that is a word. I think the rule changes have made F1 outstanding this year and I only hope that the teams catch up with their diffusers and such before the next GP. That way almost every team will be able to win a race due to their strategy and such. Well maybe not you Force India.

Watch out for later today when the McLaren liegate comes to a end. Probably a heavy fine but the slim chance of exclusion from the Championship remains. As much as I hate McLaren that would be just ridiculous. So what they lied get over it. Besides that you should see Virgin up its stake in sponsoring Brawn GP. Speaking of Virgin apparently Rubens bought a ticket to go to space on their Virgin Galatic thing and Niki Lauda is training to be a astronaut to fly one of the shuttles. WTF indeed.

Spain is in 2 weeks as the European races begin!

Top Gear Space?

They've launched an original MINI off a giant snow-covered ski jump, nearly sent a Reliant Robin into orbit and now, the Top Gear crew may toy with space exploration again, except this time, they'll strap themselves inside before pulling the trigger. According to Will Whitehorn, president of Virgin Galactic, the BBC approached his company looking to launch Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond into space for a future Top Gear episode. Virgin hopes to send its first commercial flight into space before the end of next year.

You might think that stunts like this may fall by the wayside in the wake of the global financial crisis, but you'd apparently be wrong. According to Hammond, "Because of the hard times everyone is facing, we need to go ridiculous on Top Gear. We need faster cars and bigger stunts. Nobody can afford to go out and buy a car, so there is no real point in us reviewing them. We might as well concentrate on escapism and fantasy." We can hardly think of a bigger stunt, so it sounds like a perfect fit.

Virgin America Improves!

I dont know if Ive mentioned it before but Virgin America is the shit. Yes it only has a handful of US destinations but its still cool as fuck to fly. Today they just announced a bunch of new improvements to the way they fly. The biggest is the redemption of points that now can be used for flights. Ive just noticed how boring this post is / how its basically a ad for Virgin. Your welcome
