The now legendary road race kicks off its 14th edition tomorrow in NYC's times square at noon. I will be there to attend the festivities. If your not familiar with the Gumball, it is a wild race that takes place over a few days and has various check points along the way. Everyone from rich elite to celebrities to athletes compete and some of the worlds most exclusive cars take part in it. This year it takes part in the US & Canada and if you are based there and want to hang out driving on the highway to see any of these cars/people check the link here. Should be a great Gumball and sure to be some hilarious videos on the way. I'll definitely posting some photos of Fridays kickoff event. See you there! Below are some of my favorite clips from past gumballs :

Lexus Wants You To Race Around A Model
Lexus decided it would be a great idea to co-market with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition by having a new app that has you racing GS models around Tori Pravers 3D body. I couldn't agree more with this move.

Michael Schumacher and Ferrari have announced that he will take over for the injured Felipe Massa for the remainder of the season. How awesome is that!

Get Well Soon Felipe Massa!
Sad turn of events in Hungary this week when a projectile hits Felipe Massa's head while he was going an estimated 150mph+. He appears to be knocked unconscious and drills the tire barrier. It turns out his skull was fractured and is currently in a induced coma in stable condition. If you want (and are a sick fuck) there are pictures of his head after the accident where it basically looks like he was shot in the head. Hopefully he can get well soon as he is by far my favorite driver. Lewis Hamilton won the race...

F1 Teams To Stop Using Kers In 2010

KERS is a great invention but it is not perfect and very dangerous. I was shocked when I saw Kimi do acrobat moves to get out of the car without touching it or else he would be electrocuted and probably killed.
If you dont know what KERS is...it is a Kinetic Energy system that takes energy from braking and stores it for a boost in horsepower (it is much more complicated than that but yeah you get it).
Also I havent been doing F1 reviews because Ive been watching most races on replay. Button is killing it

F1 Bahrain

Thanks to everyone who was wondering where my preview/review was. Glad you are enjoying them. I didnt see the race live...well I sorta did but fell asleep in the middle of it. Caught it later thanks to the internets and really not really much to say. Kind of a boring race, the one thing I thought was interesting; being a Ferrari fan, was that Luca Di Montezemolo showed up to "inspire" Ferrari in this race instead of waiting til Spain when all the teams are supposed to catch up to the others with their diffusers and such. Kimi finished 6th so I suppose it worked eh? Button came through again and took the race for Brawn. Id have to say that it was the finest race Button has driven in his career. He was practically perfect throughout. Felt a bit bad for Trulli and Toyota as he wanted to win for Italy (earthquake) and Toyota (first win ever in F1) but I think he is going to win a race sometime this season so cheer up Jarno. Also Vettel is a fucking beast and probably getting fit for either Massa or Kovalainen's seat for next year. Another fantastic race from the German.
Shockingly it seems that the best cars are Brawn (obviously), Red Bull and Toyota. Everyone else is way behind, almost to the point of non-competitiveness if that is a word. I think the rule changes have made F1 outstanding this year and I only hope that the teams catch up with their diffusers and such before the next GP. That way almost every team will be able to win a race due to their strategy and such. Well maybe not you Force India.
Watch out for later today when the McLaren liegate comes to a end. Probably a heavy fine but the slim chance of exclusion from the Championship remains. As much as I hate McLaren that would be just ridiculous. So what they lied get over it. Besides that you should see Virgin up its stake in sponsoring Brawn GP. Speaking of Virgin apparently Rubens bought a ticket to go to space on their Virgin Galatic thing and Niki Lauda is training to be a astronaut to fly one of the shuttles. WTF indeed.
Spain is in 2 weeks as the European races begin!

F1 China Review

Well I was close on my predictions. Red Bull pulled off the 1-2 pretty much dominating the race. Button got close to Webber but the red bull car was faster than anyone else and would've really pulled away if the race wasnt boggled down in rain. I was kinda disappointed with the race beginning under the safety car but the entire track was a puddle at the start. Once the race started up there were some good crashes. I particularly liked Kubica going on top of Trulli in which the US commentators likened it to grasshoppers fucking. Seriously.
Another race and still no points for my favorite team Ferrari. Its ok though maybe its Asia so when they return to Europe on May 10 they just have to finish 1-2 in all the European races to technically win.
Bahrain GP is next week cant wait to see the 777/747s do a fly over.

F1 China Preview

In what has become an almost iconic circuit due to its main straight building, China will host its 5th Formula one race Sunday. As the drama from McLaren and diffuser controversies continues it still doesnt take away from what is probably the most entertaining and exciting start to a F1 season in my lifetime. After another stunning qualifying session we are sure to see yet another "must see" race. Red Bull dominate the qually session getting pole position with Vettel and 3rd with Weber. Renault's saving grace Alonso is on second. Brawn GP continue to amaze with 4th and 5th. Where is Kimi and Lewis?! 8th and 9th and Heikki and Massa are in 12th and 13th. Just a amazing change of the guard going on in F1 at the moment.
As for the race I think that one of the Red Bulls will win. I really like Vettel and I think he has a amazing future in F1 but please if there is a god let Mark Webber get his first F1 victory. He has been one of my favorite racers since he made his debut and is always a good listen to when he is giving interviews. Never holds back and never does that whole politically correct shit. So Ill go with Webber 1, Button 2, and Trulli 3. One thing to watch today will be Kubica and Glock coming from the back. They dont have much of a chance to win if any but watching them move up the field will be exciting!

F1 Malaysia GP Mini Review

I have a feeling that this year will be full of classic races. This race definitely didn't disappoint for the most part. Jenson Button got his second win of the season and Ferrari and McLaren both continued to struggle. The race was ended early however as a gigantic tropical storm wanted to come through leaving the track looking like New Orleans during Katrina. The rain didnt stop and the late start (to accommodate European audience) meant it would be too dark to restart the race. So everyone got half points. However the closeness of each position (again in a race) left you wanting more. Lots of drama and was just a overall fun race to watch. Looking forward to China in 2 weeks.

The Next Lewis Hamilton Killer

Defending F1 Champions Ferrari will return to F1 this year in style. This is the Ferrari F60 which was presented officially today. Once again we will win the constructers and drivers championship. Whether or not they award it to us may not happen but we will win despite them giving it to Lewis Hamilton who really shouldn't have won and yes Im still bitter.

Gumball 3000 Is On

If you dont know what the Gumball is then you suck. This years Gumball started off in San Francisco and is making stops in LA, San Diego and Las Vegas before crossing the Pacific to North Korea then China where they will stop in Beijing and enjoy the Olympics. The Ferrari Shark(pictured) is my favorite!
